2008 Webby Awardees Showcased in Interactive Gallery
The 12th Annual Webby Awards creatively presents its winners for 2008. Compiled into an interactive gallery, the list forms a mosaic of sites for you to click on and play with. A single glance will reveal a number of familiar logos in the matrix such as National Geographic, Motorola, and McDonald’s.
According to the Webby Awards website, the thumbnail gallery is designed to be fun and interactive. Moving the cursor over the icons leaves a trail of white squares and keeping it still displays a label with the site’s description.
The tabs at the bottom of the mosaic allow users to be selective on the types of websites, whittling the display down to specific constellations of icons of your choosing. The graphic intuitiveness of the gallery is perhaps enough reason for the site itself to deserve recognition—if only there’s another award-giving body to grant it.
